Flake sizes are available in many sizes for everyone's preference.
(1”), 1/2”, 1/4”, 1/8”, 1/16”, and 1/32”. Each size profile uniquely influences the appearance of the overall flake floor. Larger flake sizes are more random in shape and offer a broad range of dimensions, whereas smaller flakes become more consistent in shape and size as they are reduced.

With our epoxy floor systems, you can change anything you want and make your epoxy floor a one-of-a-kind floor. For example, let's say you decide to make a man cave. Let's also say your favorite football team is the dolphins. Now you decide you want to make the theme of your mancave match your team colors, well in the solid epoxy flake section you can pick your colors, under each color it has a code. The colors i will be picking for this example is the Miami dolphin colors which are an Off Green, White and Orange. My color codes would be for Off Green-F1560 , White-F9959, Orange-F9979. Now it doesn't stop there, you can customize even more by picking your formula, meaning how much of each color you want. For the dolphins its mostly an Off Green, followed by a decent amount of White and just a little bit of Orange, so i picked 60% of off Green-F1560, 25% of White-F9959, and remainder 15% Of Orange- F9979! Even with the totally custom flake pattern and formula I've already picked, You can still do more! Of those colors and precents i also decided that with orange i want to change one of the sizes of the flake so its different from other basic 1/4 inch chips. so while the Off Green and White are 1/4 inch in size , I decided I want orange to be 1/32 of an inch . (see section titled; "Size of Epoxy Flake chips available" for different sizes available! ) There's no other floor on the market with this many variations available and this type of customarily, so give us a call if you have any question please feel free to Text, Call or Email us!
Epoxy Flake Floor for a Man Cave! 4 Easy Steps!
Step 1: Prepping For Epoxy Flake Floor!
Diamond Grinding:
- Using a stand behind and handheld grinder to profile the concrete so that it is ready for coatings.
- Finally, vacuuming concrete dust and other debris left behind.
Step 2 : Base Coat Epoxy & Flake
- First cutting out all edges with a cut brush. This is followed by using a gaged squeegee spreading the epoxy evenly throughout the floor.
- Followed by 2 back rolls in different directions to evenly spread epoxy.
- Once evenly spread, we then flake into basecoat. Flake the entire floor until the whole floor is covered. (Unless a client wants a partial flake, then we wouldn't).
Step 3: Scrape & Vacumm excess Epoxy Flakes
- Using a handheld scrape, we scrape the entire floor in two different directions making sure to knock down the flakes sticking up and free all loose flakes.
- We then begin vacuuming all excess until there is no more loose chips anywhere
Step 4: Clear Coat & Done!
- Finally applying clear coat, again, we cut out all edges using a cut brush and then begin squeegeeing all polyaspartic evenly across whole floor.
- Finally ending with two passes with roller and done

Products and tools we use for epoxy flake floors
Epoxy Flake Flooring Tools & Equipment!
- When it comes to tooling, we use the latest and greatest tools on the market. That being said, we use SASE Propane Diamond Grinder and Hand Grinder along with Bull 300 Vacuum (SASE as well).
- We choose propane over electric as we never have to haul a big loud generator and/or plug into property outlets.
- With propane, were able to get in more places with much more ease, as well as no power cords to drag and or get in the way.
- Our unit weighs more so it's better for grinding as well as having more power tools. What we use (besides grinders and vacuums) is 18 in rollers, 26 in squeegees, cut brushes, tape, plastic tarp, leaf blower
Epoxy Flake Coating System Products!
- The company we use for our supplies is Resinwerks. they have terrific products and higher solid content than most other brands.
- if you're not sure what solid content means, it is the % of material that will be left behind after cure. To give you an example, if you have 50% solid content epoxy, and you fill an 8 oz glass full of epoxy, when it dries and cures completely, your glass will now only have 4 oz. of material left, thus you lost half (50%) of your material.
- This company has been making epoxy for flake floors for over 20 years and has mastered the formula. They got their working time just right, as well as their dry time. It's easier and allows you to complete any size job no problem.
- We also use e-z patch which is an epoxy-based patch. It's easy to work with and dries fast and is great for patching cracks or chucks missing.
- Other products we may use is self-levelers depending on job.
